” मैं जुनैद इकराम, और मुझे कांग्रेस पार्टी के महानगर अध्यक्ष के तौर पर सेवा करने का सम्मान मिला है। राजनीति हमेशा से मेरी ज़िंदगी का हिस्सा रही है। मैं एक ऐसे परिवार से आता हूँ जो समाज सेवा और राजनीति से गहराई से जुड़ा हुआ है – मेरे पिता, जनाब हाजी इकराम कुरैशी, ने एक मंत्री के तौर पर और बाद में विधायक के तौर पर लोगों की सेवा पूरी लगन से की है।
बड़े होते हुए, मैंने समाज के प्रति उनकी प्रतिबद्धता देखी, और उसी से प्रभावित होकर मुझे बहुत कम उम्र से ही सोशल सर्विस में शामिल होने की प्रेरणा मिली। चाहे वह समुदायों की मदद करना हो, युवाओं को सपोर्ट करना हो, या ज़रूरतमंद लोगों के साथ खड़ा होना हो, समाज की सेवा करना हमेशा मेरी पहली प्राथमिकता रही है।
आज, लोगों के अपार प्यार और भरोसे से प्रोत्साहित होकर, मैंने एक्टिव पॉलिटिक्स में कदम रखा है। मैंने इंडियन नेशनल कांग्रेस को चुना क्योंकि यह एक ऐसी पार्टी है जिसने हमेशा समानता, सद्भाव और न्याय के मूल्यों को बनाए रखा है – बिना किसी धर्म, जाति या समुदाय के भेदभाव के। इसकी समावेशी विचारधारा मेरे अपने विश्वास से मेल खाती है कि हर नागरिक गरिमा, अवसर और प्रतिनिधित्व का हकदार है।

“I Junaid Ikram, and I am honored to serve as the Metropolitan President of the Congress Party. Politics has always been a part of my life. I come from a family deeply connected to public service—my father, Haji Ikram Qureshi, has served the people with dedication as a Minister and later as a Member of the Legislative Assembly.(MLA).
Growing up, I witnessed his commitment to society, and that inspired me to stay involved in social service from a very young age. Whether it was helping communities, supporting youth, or standing with people in need, serving society has always been my first priority.
Today, encouraged by the immense love and trust of the people, I have stepped into active politics. I chose the Indian National Congress because it is a party that has always upheld the values of equality, harmony, and justice—without discrimination of religion, caste, or community. Its inclusive ideology matches my own belief that every citizen deserves dignity, opportunity, and representation.
As your Metropolitan President, my mission is simple: to work for the people, to listen to every voice, and to build a future that is fair and progressive for all. I look forward to walking this journey together with you.”
Haji Ikram Qureshi
जनाब हाजी इकराम कुरैशी लगभग तीस ३० सालों से सक्रिय राजनीति में हैं, इन्होने अपनी राजैनतिक शुरुआत 1995 में BSP के टिकिट पर मेयर का चुनाव लड़ा, और अपनी एक अलग पहचान बनाई, इसके बाद इनकी सेवा और लोगो खास तौर पर ग़रीब लोगो के लिए काम करने की इच्छाशक्ति से प्रभावित होकर समाजवादी पार्टी के तात्कालिक राष्ट्रीय अध्यक्ष श्री मुलायम सिंह यादव के आमंत्रण पर समाजवादी पार्टी से जुड़े, श्री कुरैशी, मुलायम सिंह यादव के करीबी नेताओं में गिने जाते थे, मुलायम सिंह यादव जब उत्तर प्रदेश के मुख्यमंत्री बने तो उन्होंने मुरादाबाद शहर की कमान जनाब हाजी इकराम कुरैशी को सौंपी इसपर वो खरे उतरे और उनका राजनितिक कद ऊपर उठा।
जब 2007 में BSP की सरकार बानी तो उसने चाहा की जनाब कुरैशी उसकी पार्टी को ज्वाइन कर ले लेकिन जनाब हाजी इकराम कुरैशी ने इसपर अपनी असहमति ज़ाहिर की , इसके बदले में तात्कालिक सरकार ने उनपर झूठे मुक़दमे लगाकर उन्हें प्रताड़ित किया गया, लेकिन जनाब हाजी इकराम कुरैशी झुके नहीं और सत्य की जीत हुई।
2012 में जब समाजवादी पार्टी की सरकार बानी तो श्री मुलायम सिंह यादव के कहने पर मुख्यमंत्री श्री अखिलेश यादव ने जनाब हाजी इकराम कुरैशी को मंत्री पद से नवाज़ा, इसके बाद 2017 के विधान सभा चुनाव में श्री अखिलेश यादव ने इन्हे मुरादाबाद देहात से टिकिट देकर अपना विश्वास जताया ,लेकिन जनाब कुरैशी साहब ने भारी मतों से जीत दर्ज़ कराकर श्री अखिलेश यादव के विश्वास को और मज़बूत किया और विधायक बनकर विधान सभा पहुंचे ,
लेकिन राजनीति का दस्तूर है, जो तरक़्क़ी करता है उसके विरोधी भी बन जाते हैं, उसी दौरान मुलायम सिंह यादव अस्वस्थ हुए और विरोधियों को मौका मिला, इसलिए श्री हाजी इकराम कुरैशी साहब ने समाजवादी पार्टी से अपने को अलग कर लिया उसके बाद कांग्रेस को ज्वाइन किया तब से वो कांग्रेस में है और कांग्रेस को मजबूत करने में प्रयासरत हैं।
Mr. Haji Ikram Qureshi has been actively involved in politics for approximately thirty (30) years. He began his political career in 1995 by contesting the mayoral election on a BSP ticket, establishing a distinct identity for himself. Subsequently, impressed by his dedication and commitment to serving the people, especially the poor, he joined the Samajwadi Party at the invitation of its then-national president, Mr. Mulayam Singh Yadav. Mr. Qureshi was considered one of Mulayam Singh Yadav’s close confidantes. When Mulayam Singh Yadav became the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, he entrusted Mr. Haji Ikram Qureshi with the responsibility of managing the city of Moradabad, a task he performed successfully, further enhancing his political stature.
When the BSP government came to power in 2007, they attempted to persuade Mr. Qureshi to join their party, but he refused. In retaliation, the then-government harassed him by filing false cases against him, but Mr. Haji Ikram Qureshi remained steadfast, and ultimately, truth prevailed.
In 2012, when the Samajwadi Party government was formed, Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, at the behest of Mr. Mulayam Singh Yadav, appointed Mr. Haji Ikram Qureshi to a ministerial position. Later, in the 2017 assembly elections, Mr. Akhilesh Yadav showed his confidence in him by giving him the ticket from Moradabad Rural constituency. Mr. Qureshi won the election by a huge margin, further strengthening Mr. Akhilesh Yadav‘s trust in him, and became a Member of the Legislative Assembly.
However, politics is such that those who progress also acquire opponents. During this time, Mulayam Singh Yadav fell ill, giving his opponents an opportunity. Consequently, Mr. Haji Ikram Qureshi distanced himself from the Samajwadi Party and joined the Congress party. He has been with the Congress ever since and is actively working to strengthen the party.
